Who We Are, What We Have Learned Through Our Work, and What Sustains Us

is made possible with funding from The Jubilation Foundation

The most frequent requests the Association of Teaching Artists consistently receives and has received for the past ten years from artists throughout the country are:  How do I get started as a Teaching Artist; and What do I need to know. This is a compilation of information that builds upon the knowledge, experience, and history of Teaching Artists to help those with a minimum of experience looking for foundational knowledge and for the more experienced Teaching Artists looking to enhance and sustain their work.

Who We Are, What We Have Learned Through Our Work, and What Sustains Us addresses the experiential knowledge of Teaching Artists in education and in communities to enrich the arts education field. It is  intended as a foundation for recording and preserving the knowledge and practice of professional Teaching Artists, affirmation of our history and experience.
